Truth be told Hideaki was a little surprised when he heard that Rin used to be in Bl@ster as well, though more surprised when he heard that he was in the team known as Pesca Corsica. “I’ve heard of them, yeah. You guys were pretty tough.” He frowned a bit. From what he heard too, they were a bit ruthless too. But… Rin didn’t really come off as ruthless. Maybe he had just gotten lucky with him.

He was a little taken aback by Rin as he latched onto his arm, a surprised look on his face. Rin sure was quick to be even closer to him, wasn’t he? He was already acting like they were good friends, though Hideaki supposed he didn’t mind too much. Having a friend here wouldn’t be a bad idea. Before he could answer Rin’s question about the neutral zone though the young blonde began dragging him off.

A small smile soon appeared on Hideaki’s lips though. He was grateful that he had met someone like Rin — someone who was kind enough to help him out. Before too long they stopped for a moment, and Hideaki watched Rin as he dashed ahead. He figured that, being in a team as strong as Pesca Corsica, Rin wasn’t kidding about being strong enough to take on anyone. Even if he was of a more cute appearance, he still had the strength to back up any fight.

The young man blinked, frowning a bit as Rin asked the question on his way back. “Well… I originally came here looking for my brother. He was a Bl@ster participant too… and he often complained about how boring it had gotten; how he wanted more. When he went missing I figured he came here. Though… when I arrived… Arbitro informed me that he was no longer alive.” Hideaki sighed. “So since I wasn’t eager to pass through the Old Lands again… I decided I may as well stay. There wasn’t much for me to return to anyway.”

Rin pursed his lips. “Yeah.. the oldlands could easily be more tough than here. Those  things all move like a pack of animals.” he shook his head. His eyes narrowed a little. Rin had come looking his half brother, for Shiki—for Il Re. The blonde quickly sprung into life. “I’m looking for somebody too~ But I’ve had little luck yet.” he grinned.

He lead the other the last stretch to the hotel, pushing open the door—the quiet, yet buzzing atmosphere quickly filled his ears. He took a few steps ahead and made a huge welcoming gesture. “Welcome to the Hotel~” he chimed. “Let’s go sit in the back of the lobby.” he pointed to an empty sofa in the corner. The sofa itself was in a pretty bad state. Almost all the springs in it were rusted or broken now, but it probably still made a more comfortable seating than the floor.

Once over in the corner, Rin brought one of his knees up on the sofa and pat the cushion beside him, wanting Hideaki to sit there. “Wait here, I’ll trade for some food and water.” he smiled, pulling a handful of tags from his pouch and scuttled over to the counter. After getting two bottles of water and a selection of Solid’s—switching them for a number of pig tags, he returned to where the other was sat.

“Here.” he held out a bottle of water and then threw the Solids down on the table. “Help yourself. I didn’t know which flavour you liked best.” Rin picked up a yakiniku Solid and dumped himself back down on the couch and letting out a sigh.

Rin wasn’t kidding when he said the things in the old land moved like a pack of animals. Indeed they did… moving with only one desire — to kill. How such beings came to be? He couldn’t understand how they had evolved into such horrible creatures. He frowned a bit, but then refocused his gaze on Rin’s face as he said that he was looking for someone too. Had the blonde asked Arbitro? Hmm… but then again, if they weren’t a participant in Igura Arbitro probably wouldn’t know. That was a bit troubling, at least to him, but Rin didn’t seem very concerned.

Lead on by Rin Hideaki soon found himself at a rather run down hotel. No surprise at it being run down, considering the state the rest of Toshima was in and all. He couldn’t help but smile at how enthusiastic Rin was being. It was pretty refreshing actually. “Thanks.” He looked to where Rin pointed, crossing over to the worn down sofa. It was in pretty poor shape, but it had to be more comfortable than the cold hard ground, right? He crossed over, sitting next to Rin and looking back towards the entrance. This was definitely more safe than being outside.

Before he could argue with Rin about having him trade for their food and water the blonde was gone, and he let out a soft sigh. He wasn’t used to having others take care of him, even for something like this. But… he was new. He didn’t have any tags to trade in, so he made a mental note to repair the favor for his new friend later.

As Rin returned Hideaki smiled warmly. “Thanks Rin.” He selected a curry flavored solid and opened it. It was a bit plain, but he didn’t mind a bit of plainess now and then. After taking a bite he looked over to Rin again. “So… who are you looking for if you don’t mind my asking? I’d be happy to help you look. It’d be the least I can do for your kindness.” He smiled warmly.

What Hideaki expected to be an assault… was hardly that. A small, slender person came running up to him. At first glance the one before him appeared to be a female, but, upon closer inspection, Hideaki discovered that the slender being before him wasn’t female at all but male. A very, very, pretty male. He frowned a bit. He wasn’t exactly drawn to him outright, but he was merely noticing that the blonde boy had nice features. His blue eyes were especially striking, unlike the faded blue of his own.

At the very least the male before him wasn’t hostile. In fact… he seemed downright friendly, greeting him and all. Hideaki sheathed his weapon, letting out a small sigh. For a moment he believed that he was about to get in his first Igura match. It would come eventually, he knew, but apparently not right now. Now instead of fighting, he listened to the boy in front of him speak, telling him that it wasn’t good being out so late. His frown deepened.

“Yes, I am. I figured it wouldn’t be safe at night… but I was having a really hard time finding the neutral zone. This whole place is like a damn maze. Everything is twisting and turning… It makes me so frustrated.” It was an honest answer. All of Toshima was so run down it was hard to tell different buildings apart. At least for him anyway, since he was new and hadn’t learned the different pathways yet.

“Rin…” He repeated, as if logging the name into his memory. “My name is Hideaki… though some know me better by my Bl@ster name; Winter.” He had been a fighter in the Ghost District, one of the individual fighters. It wasn’t so much that he was against working on a team… he was just searching for the right one. A small smile found its way onto Hideaki’s face as he extended his hand. “A pleasure to meet someone whose first goal isn’t to kill me.” He laughed a bit.

Rin continued to smile. “Yeah. It seems like that until you start committing it to memory.” he chuckled. It was true, even when Rin had first turned up, everything was confusing and like a maze; but being strong and agile, he was able to avoid fights—or quite easily win them. “Winter.. huh..” the name rang a bell, but nothing really stood out. “I used to be in Bl@ster—on a team, though.” he grinned. “You ever hear of the legendary Pesca Corsica?” he asked, placing his hands on his hips. “That was my team..” his voice lost some of it’s airiness as he reminisced.

Nodding, Rin brought his grin back again. “Well, I can pick on anyone and win, it’s kinda boring me—no point fighting a newbie~” he hopped over and latched onto Hideaki’s arm. “Ehehe~ Well either way it’s nice to meet you too, Hideaki~” he chimed, looking up at the other. “You need to get to the neutral zone, right? The closest one is this way~.” he pointed a finger and started dragging the other by his arm that was linked with his own.

Rin lead the other down various alleys and streets, it was only a few blocks away and could have easily been reached by a direct walk down the main open road, but it was safer to take the long route. Rin let go of the other and dashed ahead a little to check the coast was clear before starting to walk backwards and face the other to talk again. “So, what drove you to play Igura here?” he asked, hands behind the back of his head once more.

Truth be told Hideaki was a little surprised when he heard that Rin used to be in Bl@ster as well, though more surprised when he heard that he was in the team known as Pesca Corsica. “I’ve heard of them, yeah. It was nearing night time in Toshima, more specifically within the area where the murder game Igura was played. Wandering the streets, sticking closer to the buildings rather than out in the open, was a young man, who appeared to be eighteen, maybe nineteen or twenty at most. The youth was tall, standing at 6’3” with faded blue eyes and jet black hair. His face was clear of any facial hair — he hated having it — and his style of clothing simple. Just a T-Shirt and jeans with a pair of dirty white sneakers. He was new to this game, and his coming here had been a hard decision. A deep frown was upon his face, and his brow was furrowed as he thought.

His name was Hideaki Akane, more commonly called Winter by his friends. It was a pen name he used to write poetry under. Now one might wonder why anyone who wrote poetry, who might seem innocent as a butterfly, would be in a place such as Igura. In truth Hideaki was not as innocent as he seemed. He was a participant in the game known as Bl@ster… and his older brother, Hotaru, had been a participant as well. Hotaru was the reason for Hideaki coming here… though in his coming here… he had found out that Hotaru was dead.

That was when the true decision arose. Should he stay here and participate in Igura or attempt to return home? There wasn’t much for him to return home to now… Just a small apartment that would seem even more lonely that he knew his brother wasn’t coming back. So instead Hideaki decided to put aside his Bl@ster days and step up to the big leagues. Thus he became an Igura participant.

All of his tags however, at least thus far, were pig tags. Go figure. But he wasn’t going to lose hope. He would keep going until he collected what he needed to win against Il Re… whoever that was. Hideaki wasn’t worried though. He glanced down to the dirk at his side. Longer than a dagger… shorter than a sword. It was a pretty good weapon… one his adopted family had owned. His father had given it to him on his sixteenth birthday as a present… and since then Hideaki had practiced with it. It was familiar and comfortable to use, so he figured he’d be fine. It had certainly helped in the Old Lands.

Hideaki came to a stop, running a hand through his long hair with a sigh. “Ugh… It’s getting late… I thought that Arbitro guy said there was a neutral zone around here somewhere…” Hideaki opened the black messenger bag at his side and took out a hair tie, tying his hair back out of his face in a ponytail. A chill began to creep up his spine suddenly though — the sense of another presence. Hideaki quickly turned, narrowing his eyes slightly as he drew forth his blade. He didn’t know who it was who was near him… but he wasn’t going to allow himself to be sneaked up on.

Rin had been wondering around for the, snapping photos and trying to hunt down his brother. The blonde had met up with Motomi and given him more information on various happenings and the mysterious character—the man clad in black—called, Shiki. The shorter male was simply wandering back to the hotel as he heard running steadily coming to a halt in the distance. He tilted his head slightly and crept through the shadows as he tried to get a clearer view.

This area was usually quiet at this time—no, silent. Most would already have taken refuge in one of the many neutral zones. Rin, once he’d gotten a better picture of the male—one he had never seen before—he grinned. They were new, Rin had been here long enough to know the faces of most other participants. He ran out of the shadows.

“Hi~ Hi~!” he called to male. He had a pretty face and he’d caught him tying his hair back. He waved his hand in the air above his head. A tag hung from his neck but the young boy appeared less than hostile as he dashed across the widespread road. He stopped in front of the other, disregarding his drawn weapon and grinning, putting his hands behind his head. “You’re new here aren’t you?~” he cooed. “You know it’s kinda dangerous to be out this late.. some dirty players loiter to steal tags.” he explained, pursing his lips a little. Rin suddenly shrugged and let his hands drop to his sides. “I’m Rin! Who’re you?” he asked.

What Hideaki expected to be an assault… was hardly that. A small, slender person came running up to him. At first glance the one before him appeared to be a female, but, upon closer inspection, Hideaki discovered that the slender being before him wasn’t female at all but male. A very, very, pretty male.
